Partners Join Forces To Create Destination Nottingham
There will be a united showing from the city of Nottingham at this year’s Event UK with Nottingham Conferences, Experience Nottinghamshire, The Nottingham Hoteliers Association, and Nottingham Arena partnering for the first time to create a Destination Nottingham area at the show.
The collaboration aims to promote Nottingham and the surrounding region as a first class destination for conducting and winning business. It will also form part of a wider campaign encompassing a rebranding of ‘Keep Britain Talking’ to ‘Keep Nottingham Talking’; highlighting the multi million pound economic contribution that the meetings and events industry brings to Nottingham and the East Midlands.
“Nottingham is fast becoming one of the UK’s premier destinations for meetings and events; at Event UK we can showcase our venues, hotels and support services as a one stop shop for meeting planners,” comments Kirstie Danzey, Marketing Manager, Nottingham Conferences. “The partnership underlines our collective ambition for the city and the importance Nottingham puts on business visitors.”
Colin Roberts, Sales & Marketing Director at Nottingham Arena adds, “As the largest venue in Nottingham we are delighted to be involved in the partnership which will not only benefit the individual parties but also highlight the sheer range of facilities and services Nottingham has to offer as a conferencing and business destination.”
Andy Melton, Conference Tourism Co-ordinator at Experience Nottinghamshire explains, “As a leading UK conferencing destination, Nottingham is currently ranked sixth according to the UK Conference Market Survey (UKCMS) and there has been a significant surge in the number of trade associations, professional bodies and societies selecting Nottingham for summit, AGM and annual conference activities.”
“The critical mass of ‘Destination Nottingham’ will convey some of the energy and optimism of the Nottingham business community and hopefully persuade more business decision makers to take a closer look at the city’s robust offer.”
Paul Fearon, Chairman of NHA and General Manager of Hart’s Hotel concluded; “Such is the strength and depth of Nottingham’s hospitality and with a combined commitment to deliver unrivalled service, the membership of the NHA are excited about promoting the new initiative to ‘Keep Nottingham Talking’
We are proud of our city and are ready to welcome business visitors from all around the globe.”
